ART PARTY #2

Thank you to everyone who came out to the last-ish Art Party/show at Rosemont last night. The artwork looked great again on the walls and Juffage played some really rad music that I think most people were genuinely into.

It's been a great run at the Rosemont apartments. We've hosted Pattern Is Movement, Bo White + Duo Select, Gray Ghost, Lowbrow, Meth Mountain, Grids, The Beast, GDP, John Williamson, Bob Fields, Andrew Weathers, Daniel Joseph and Nations, among a few others. Thank you very much to all the amazing local artists for displaying your work in our hallways.

And of course thanks to the many people who came out to party and more importantly those of you who came to support the art and music. We'll be working something out in the future...

SWEEEET YAUHAUS SHOW ON SUNDAY

For real, this time the show starts at 9pm because the cops come if the show goes on too long. You don’t want that to happen and I don’t want that to happen. Show up at 9, enjoy a show that lasts until 11, and then go home to the husband and kids.

Also, don’t show up if you just want to party. This isn’t “cool town”. If you would not like to see one of these bands, there’s no reason to show. You’re just clogging up the porch. We’re not assholes, but it just makes sense. These have gotten big enough to where we can officially say THEY ARE NOT PARTIES, THEY ARE SHOWS. Yauhaus = five years strong.

JANA HUNTER, from Baltimore, has a really gorgeous voice, top notch songs and an avant presentation. She’ll be performing with a full band. She’s also on these record labels Gnomonsong, Fuck It Tapes, Woodsist, Troubleman. If you haven’t heard it, you’re missing out.


CRAZY DREAMS BAND is the full-on rock outing of Ms. Lexie Mountain on Holy Mountain records. Sounds reminiscent of Royal Trux + Sun City Girls + Patti Smith. Crazy sounds and awesome crooning. Also features the drummer from Mouthus/Religious Knives.


BOB FIELDS is a glutton for wonderment, matched by none. The new sets are impeccable.


TWO OF THESE BANDS ARE TOURING. Please do not fuck around and be sure to bring $3-5 donation. You will not find a better or cheaper show.Stop watching television.

FUTURE ISLANDS/LONNIE WALKER/JAVELIN SHOW @ YAUHAUS

Future Islands (Baltimore), Lonnie Walker (Raleigh) and Javelin (NYC) all killed it at Yauhaus last night. Shame on you if you missed it.

Cops showed up during Lonnie's set which resulted in Future Islands (softly) bangin out an extremely rare and impromptu acoustic set. Please believe I got the whole night on tape and recordings will be up sooner than later.

Also, be sure to go listen to Javelin right now. They were sooooo sick last night.
